Dra. Rita: Kumusta na ang training?
ako: (Gulat much, she remembers.) Okay naman po. Medyo stressed lang and pagod sa work pero kinakaya naman.
Dra. Rita: That's good.
I was in awe! Ang galing ni Dra.! Naaalala niya and nakikilala niya each one na dumaan sa kanya sa SET? I admire her more na!
ako: Naalala niyo po ko doktora? Nag SET din po ako last year.
Dra. Rita: Oo naman! Medyo nag-iba nga ang look mo from before. Dati medyo clean looking ka. Ngayon...
A few seconds of silence. Maybe she was choosing her words.
Dra. Rita: Parang ragged look ka.
Bolera din si doktora. Gumamit pa ng euphemism! Haha!
ako: Oo nga doc. Wala na masyado time for myself kasi. Haggard and stressed sa work.
Mahaba haba din naging usapan namin ni Dra. Rita pero that, I guess, was the highlight of our conversation. Kaya na-realize ko na need ko na talaga to de-stress! It shows na kasi!
I met her and some of my mutant friends when I came to visit them over at the Department of Health compound for their SET (Self-Empowerment Training).
Yes, change venue sila starting this batch and iba na rin ng hotel na tinuluyan for the night.
May humingi kasi ng favor sa akin to check on someone. And I was near the area naman kaya pumunta ako.
At least in my own little way, nakakatulong ako sa mga mutant friends ko, giving health opinions and advices when they ask for it. My sole purpose of letting them know that I'm a doctor.
Kaya sana lang, I wish not to be mocked. Oo, doktor ako and I should know better about our health. Pero that doesn't exempt me from getting infected. Being a doctor does not give me immunity from acquiring the infection. It's not a work-related disease, but a sexually transmitted infection. Tao lang din naman ako.
Actually, akala ko sanay na ako to hear such belittling comment. But to hear that from a mutant too, medyo it took a toll in me.
I have nothing against him naman. Here's just my two cent worth about the issue.
Anyway, enough na yan. I treasure a core value of humanity and that guides people why they act the way they do. I will use this to show other people how they can understand each other, as one we can help society. Chos!
And if there's one thing to be thankful for today, it's someone who just gave me a gift or someone I forced to give me something. Haha!
Lol!
P.S.:
You would want to check this link for some details on what happened sa SET nung time ko.
Aja!
Its amazing how much details a doctor can easily remember noh? I am still torn between proceeding to take up Medicine or a Masters
ReplyDeleteand how much more it brings joy to the patients pag naaalala ng doctor nila ang mga pasyente nila...:)
