Battling My Way Out

I am currently battling my way out of pneumonia.

It's my first time and the feeling was like hell.

My present condition started 6 weeks prior, when I began to have productive cough with yellowish to greenish phlegm, associated with colds, intermittent fever for 4 days, occasional shortness of breaths, prompting me to consult at my treatment hub.

Initially, the Infectious Disease fellow prescribed me with Co-Amoxiclav 1g/tab every 12 hours for 7 days. She asked me to do chest X-ray PAL, AFB sputum exam, and sputum GS/CS. My chest X-ray revealed pneumonia on both (left and right) lower lung fields.

I showed my chest X-ray finding to my ID doctor and prescribed me, aside from Co-Amoxiclav, with Azithromycin 500mg/tab every 24 hours for 5 days.

There were a lot of things that run through my mind during the time when I was sick. I couldn't leave work because they won't let me. I even dreamed one time of getting intubated and calling for a pre-eulogy for me while I was admitted. #TFIOS. Glad, it was only just a dream.

And still thankful I did not require hospital admission, though at certain point I wished I had so that I could get some rest from the physically demanding, ATP-draining, stress-inducing training I'm in to.

It's been a week now since I have completed my antibiotics. Still with occasional cough with minimal whitish phlegm, I could say I'm a lot feeling better. Hoping for my full recovery the soonest.

Yes, I am currently battling my way out of pneumonia and confidently winning it!

Aja!

This is the downside if being in this type of job. I know how you feel. We are on the same boat.
