Uncertainty is the only certainty there is in life. ~ I am a doctor, and this is my uncertain life after HIV.

End The Stigma!
While scrolling down through my Twitter timeline before I went to sleep last night, I got a chance to read a good article and I can't help but share it as it brought me to tears.

If You Were In Their Shoes
This morning upon checking my poz Twitter account, I saw in my timeline a picture of a certain treatment hub's hallway with a few masked and unmasked people sitting on the benches, with the caption that goes something like "Ang dami-dami na ng may HIV ngayon." It's not verbatim, but that's the idea. It was posted by one of our blood brothers.

Blue Sky
My current mood put in a song:
When do stars fade their light
Does the moon and the sun make it right?
For you the world may be
Like an endless storm chasing a mystery

Does the moon and the sun make it right?
For you the world may be
Like an endless storm chasing a mystery

He Is HIV Free!
This morning I saw my ex, MV, posted on his Facebook account a picture of himself with a blood bag beside him. He had just donated blood, it says on the caption.
Alam ko before ka makapagdonate ng blood, to ensure safety of these life-saving products, mayroon nang mga preliminary screening tests na ginagawa. Para naman hindi masayang yung 450ml of blood na kukunin sayo only to find out hindi ka pala pasado. More so after blood donation, mayroon pang tests na ginagawa para talaga makasigurado na pasado for usage yun blood products.
I don't know sa iba. I'm no medical technologist nor a pathologist. Enlighten me then. :)

Ayun na nga, so what's the big deal? Well, I think that means he is HIV free! And I'm happy for him.

2nd Year Anniversary
It was a lazy, cold Friday dawn when my alarms synchronously rang and I just kept on snoozing them. My mind was telling me to get up but my body was telling me otherwise. Thirty minutes later, the struggle of getting up finally ended. I took a quick shower, and ate a light breakfast. I don't want to be late for my 2nd year anniversary consultation.

Discreet Problems
Sometimes, there are things I cannot fathom about straight guys lalo pag nagbibiruan sila. And these instances, I often caught myself off guard not knowing how to react to these situations.
Take for example these 2 scenarios...

3 Diary Entries
As I was about to write down the inaccurate list of those who greeted me this Christmas sa diary ko (Yes, ganun ako ka-OC.), nalungkot ako bigla upon seeing that I only have 3 diary entries for the year 2014. Anyare?!!

Jeepney Boys
Pahinga muna ulit tayo sa kwentong HIV.
Since it's WN's birthday, I forced myself to finally come up with this blog entry. Hehe!

Cry
Nakalimutan ko na today nga pala ang second anniversary ng HIV Awareness Day ko (the day I knew I was HIV reactive). Naalala ko na lang when I read a tweet kanina by a mutant friend which says "Exactly two years ago, a test changed my life..." Napaisip ako ng date today and remembered na December 17 nga pala today. Exactly two years ago, the same test changed my life too.

Symptoms Of HIV Infection?
What are the symptoms of HIV infection?
This frequently asked question is something I'd love not to answer. Because there really ain't got a clear-cut, definitive symptoms for HIV infection. It is actually vague and could sometimes be misleading.

Stressed Spelled Backwards
I'm almost done in my first year of residency training and all I can say is that I'm stressed! And that is probably why I developed this big appetite for desserts. After all, stressed spelled backwards is desserts.

That Creepy Doll
Dreams like this make me wish I don't experience having that clear and vivid memory effect from Efavirenz.
It's the Hallow's Eve and the hospital staff just could not stop talking about horror stories about our hospital... lurking spirits, wandering souls. Even telling that from the room I was fond of sleeping alone, there's this guy in black with a blurred face who lingers inside. WTF! I have been sleeping there for about 2 to 3 times already.

Man-Beauty
My last blog entry and my absence since then have misled some of my friends and imaginary readers about my health. They thought something bad happened to me after that bout with pneumonia. It was a bad experience but luckily I did not need to be admitted. On contrary, I was forced to report for work. Residency really sucks!
Anyway, I won't go talking about some residency shit this time, nor will I be talking about HIV. Let's have a breather, away from the mutant world, and indulge ourselves with God's natural masterpieces.
WN, this entry is for you.

Happy And Contented
I was actually alarmed kanina sa reaction ni doktora when she learned what residency training program I was taking. Hindi daw ba delikado for my patients? #enoughnaTMI.

Something Noble... Or Maybe Not (2 of 2)
After several months of not seeing and hearing from each other, LA, my non-mutant ex suitor, and I met again about a week ago. He was late, as usual. But this time, he asked to move our meeting time 30 minutes later. I didn't mind.
He looked pretty much the same from the last time I saw him. Skinny as he was before and still wearing braces on his teeth, he was donning a simple black shirt, maong shorts, and a pair of sneakers.
